Fairy Machinist by darchala Fairy Machinist by darchala
There once was a fairy from Rhone
Who found herself ever-alone
All her princes she sent
To girls without gents
So she ended up building her own.

Ahem. My ridiculous limericking aside, *nJoo is holding a 2d art contest and the current theme is 'steampunk fairytale'.

How the *hell* am I supposed to resist that, I ask you?

The premise of mine is somewhat Pinocchio-ish, in which a fairy godmother (possibly the one of Cinderella fame) finds that by hooking up various damsels with princes and such, she's left none for herself. So she builds one, and somewhere along the line he does turn into a real boy.

Although I'm certain there'd have to be something suitably dark and twisted in there somewhere if I wrote it.

Awww man......2008.......I so would have love to enter that contest, too....

Your drawing and its concept are both so very beautiful. :D

Though, in my own opinion I think the prince should be slightly more mechanical-looking, so that the concept is a little more obvious.

The wings are SPLENDIDLY GORGEOUS!!! :D I wish to use them as a reference in the future, if that would be alright with you...
